The eBusiness for Companies programme is aimed at all the companies in South Karelia. The objective is to help companies to improve their business operations by utilizing new electronic applications and services. When companies introduce applications or services, they have the opportunity to receive financial support of up to 80% of the purchase and training expenses from the eBusiness for Companies programme.

INTO

INTO (Information Technology Programming Training) is a development project with the aim of providing new expertise in information technology through training and research. The target group is small and medium-sized companies in the Kymenlaakso region and unemployed jobseekers. The INTO project offers companies new expertise in different activities of information technology. The training programmes are based on international certification training programmes with world-wide recognition. The project is intended for small and medium-sized companies which have a need to improve the expertise of their staff or to recruit new labour, for newly-qualified people and students completing their studies, and for the unemployed with an academic or college-level degree.

Profitable Expansion

The objective of the project ‘Profitable Expansion‘ is to provide the companies of the region with a good starting point for the realization of plans for profitable expansion of their business operations and by means of training, consultation and the support of the group, to assist entrepreneurs and business managers. The Profitable Expansion training aims to improve the readiness of the management and leaders of small and medium-sized companies for the development and management of an expanding company. The participants will receive training in the skills needed in the analysis and systematic development of business operations. The training assists the participants in determining the need for development in their own company and in drafting a concrete programme of development.

Forest Industry Cluster

The Leading Experts of the Forest Industry Cluster in Kouvola Region is an ESF project which provides adaptable university-level education for the staff of the companies operating in the cluster. The purpose of the project is to answer the need for university-level and occupational expertise of the staff; to prevent a shortage of professionals developing in the region; to create an operations model to introduce university-level education to the region; to develop digital teaching material for the instruction of pulp and paper technology; to increase the participation of women in the training and also to reinforce the network of the Forest Industry Cluster.

MONEY

MONEY, or the Business Laboratory of Multilingual Network Communication, is a training and research programme which provides companies with services, for example, on localization, web publishing, translation and content production, and offers students new ways of learning, the skills needed in working life, contacts to the business world, an opportunity to prepare for entrepreneurship, and more.

PRELUDE

The PRELUDE project is an accompanying measure to the Fifth Framework Programme of ESF and its objective is to survey the needs and the present situation of regions in the development of the information society, to map out good practices and to generate an effective international network between the partner regions and other actors. To achieve the last goal in particular, the participants have formed so-called ‘clusters for innovation‘ both at a regional and European level.

TAITE

The training project of Industrial Management and Information and Communication Technology known as ‘TAITE‘ offers the engineers of companies and corporations and other staff members an opportunity to improve their expertise to meet the future demands of information technology, industrial engineering and management, and management ability. The project focuses on ICT business, the efficiency of production, product development, the support on innovativeness and internationalisation.

EuroRussia

The operation of the EuroRussia Service Center is targeted at developing co-operation between Kymenlaakso Region and, as a goal, the whole of Southeast Finland with Northwest Russia. The Service Center assist in launching international commercial development projects.
